We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist III in MQA’s Bureau of Operations, Licensure Support Services Unit. The candidate selected for this position should be ready to lead by example as a vital member to our incredible licensing and renewal team. Our team performs research for complex regulatory activities involving renewals, certifications, and licensure for healthcare practitioners. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a team, exercise independent judgement, provide guidance to healthcare professionals, and exercise problem-solving skills when dealing with licensing and renewal issues.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position performs complex regulatory activities involving research, operational and analytical report processing, problem resolution and response to public record requests for license certifications, renewals/reinstatements, status, name/address changes as well as processes National Practitioner Databank reviews. Incumbent ensures the accuracy of the division’s practitioner licensee data in the database system. The incumbent must be able to understand and apply department rules, statutes, practices, and board rules. The incumbent must exercise independent judgment in dealing with licensees and resolving issues and assists management of the Licensure Maintenance Team. This position requires problem solving skills. In this capacity the incumbent is responsible for the following:
Conducting in-depth analysis of NPDB query reports for profiled professionals to determine if the licensee is compliant with the requirements for notifying the department of adverse actions or malpractice claims settled or adjudicated against them. Correspond with licensees and Consumer Services unit regarding new cases and open complaints.
Answers and responds to incoming emails for main License Maintenance ZZZZ box including but not limited to, License Pull Requests, License Returns, Bulk and Other Payer and Healthcare Fraud, sorting and forwarding email boxes. Provides direction, technical assistance, and guidance to licensed health care practitioners, both verbally and in writing. Assists with renewal inquires, and issuance of licenses, disciplinary actions and administrative suspensions. Performs complex research using the department’s licensing database and document repository to respond to complaints and inquiries from the public, applicants, licensees and DOH staff. Processes renewals requiring review by the department’s Background Screening Unit including correspondence with licensees on renewal clearance.
Serves as back up to Regulatory Program Specialist. Assisting RSll's with complex questions related to the license maintenance of healthcare practitioner licenses to include processing license renewals, license certifications, Department of Revenue suspensions and reinstatements within the Licensure Maintenance Team. Assist with creation of new licensure files as needed by the professional licensing boards. Support supervisor as needed.
Assist with other related projects or duties as determined or requested by management.
