The Work You Will Do:

This position is located in the Division of Regulation, Farm Labor Unit.  The incumbent in this position is responsible for ensuring that State Farm Labor Contractors are properly registered and follow appropriate laws.  The incumbent performs work in planning, analyzing, processing, and certifying Farm Labor Contractor applications for licensure under Chapter 450, Part III, Florida Statutes.

  • Reviews and processes all applications received from, or on the behalf of, Farm Labor  for certification of issuance of a license/permit.  Reviews data management and approval processes are performed utilizing an electronic filing system (OnBase) and VersaRegulation.

 

  • Obtains necessary information for processing applications, and applies establishes processing procedures and evaluation requirements for recommending certification issuance/denial. Analyzes and verifies supporting application documents for accuracy and reliability. Gathers and processes data from other agencies such as U.S. Department of Labor. Florida Departments of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Financial Services, Revenue, Law Enforcement; insurance companies; doctor’s offices; etc., which may have an  impact on the applicant’s registration. Researches and resolves problems of eligibility.

 

  • Provides training and technical assistance to Regional Office  Farm Labor Investigators, farm labor contractors, and other interested groups and organizations. Responds to inquiries regarding application status, deficiencies, and supplements.

 

  • Interviews and assists farm labor contractor applicants in completing applications and obtaining information and documentation affecting the issuance of a registration certificate/licensure or supplemental authorization.

 

  • Performs related work and special assignments as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of inspection/investigative techniques
  • Knowledge of and/or work in an agricultural program
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbal and written.
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
  • Ability to apply and interpret laws.
  • Knowledge of OnBase and Versa Regulation.
  • Knowledge of licensure/application processing.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A valid Drivers’ License is required.
  • Level II Background Check (FDLE Fingerprint Check)

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • High School Diploma/GED
