MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent and six (6) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work; regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing , business administration, consumer, or public relations or investigation; or
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional experience as described above.
An equivalent combination of education and experience equaling six (6) years can substitute for the above requirements.

JOB DUTIES:
Oversees the application of diverse policies and procedures with regard to approval or denial of all applications submitted pursuant to Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, and Section 790.06, Florida Statutes.
Performs direct supervisory responsibilities for subordinate employees which include organizing and scheduling work, providing training and guidance, attendance and leave and evaluating performance.
Conducts quality control of the Public Inquiry Center by reviewing calls and chats for accuracy and customer service quality.
Responsible for answering inquiries that come through the dolweb questions/inquiries mailbox.
Serves as a liaison with industry personnel, state law enforcement agencies and the general public in program areas. Provides technical expertise and statutory policy interpretation on related areas of proposed division policies and procedures.
Conducts special research projects for the Bureau Chief, often of a highly complex and confidential nature. Prepares correspondence relating to the section for signature of the Bureau Chief. Represents the Bureau Chief at intergovernmental meetings relating to program areas within the bureau, computerization needs, legislation and administrative rules as required.
Serves as backup supervisor in the absence of the Regulatory Program Administrator. This requires a thorough working knowledge of the Public Inquiry Call Center and quality control of the Center.
Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner.
Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures.
Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Knowledge of Chapter 493 and section 790.06, F.S.
