Position Summary
This is a highly technical position that entails analysis of Agency programs to provide information required by management. The incumbent will use statistical techniques and related software to obtain, summarize, and analyze data pertaining to costs, clients, utilization, and other aspects of APD programs. The incumbent will develop reports and presentations to communicate results to management. Specific tasks include:
The Work You Will Do
- Develops and tests queries to obtain and summarize data from the agency's ABC and iBudget systems, the Medicaid paid claims database (FMMIS), and other agency data systems as required for agency reports, management decision-making, and regional administration.
- Provides technical consultation and develops research strategies for investigating topics of interest for agency management and staff concerning the collection, analysis, and reporting of data.
- Responsible for compilation of Monthly and Quarterly Reports to comply with legislatively mandated reporting to the legislature and governor.
- Compiles data for bill analysis and other ad hoc reporting requested by agency staff, Legislature, OPB, providers, or other state entities.
- Prepares and maintains documentation of systems and procedures developed for the provision of information to management and staff.
- Assists with reconciliation of waiver reimbursement invoice payment data from the Agency for Healthcare Administration against agency system records (ABC/iBudget) and Medicaid paid claims data (FMMIS).
- Provides technical assistance for the design and maintenance of information systems developed by the agency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major course of study in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field.
- Must have direct work experience utilizing statistical software applications such as SPSS, SAS, R or equivalent.
- Must have experience with Microsoft software programs (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Must have direct work experience in data mining or data analysis.
- Must have familiarity with the fundamentals of descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Must have the ability to work independently in structuring and executing assignments.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Methods of data mining and analysis with familiarity with the fundamentals of descriptive and inferential statistics.
Ability to:
- Utilize Statistical software, (SPSS, SAS, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
- Work independently in structuring and executing assignments.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
