The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. The Work You Will Do:
This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This position serves as the Citation Specialist located in the Director’s Office, performing general administrative duties to enhance the operational efficiency of the citation process.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for:
- Responsible for citation and final order case reports, ensuring the report is executed correctly, formatted, tracked for compliance, and once payment is received it is processed promptly.
- Conducts comprehensive analyses of citations and final orders involving condominiums regulated by the Department and alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules.
- Reviews each citation issued to verify the accuracy of the violation cited and the monetary discipline taken by reviewing current statutory and rule information specific to the citation.
- Contacts the issuing field office personnel when a citation is issued in error; creates citation tracking numbers by entering the citation information into the Department's main software system, Versa Regulation.
- Creates a working folder for each citation received, complete with all required documentation.
- Emails the issuing field office personnel with the citation tracking number within three business days of receipt. Moves all files through the Department's document imaging system, OnBase.
- Identifying, reviewing, and providing solutions in connection with citation activities and for assessing the performance of the Division regarding citations and final orders.
- Serves as the primary source for preparing, editing, and/or proofreading correspondence generated by citation/final order issues for the Division in responding to customer inquiries.
- Routing, tracking, and handling referrals from the Inspector General's Office regarding citation/final order issues for response.
- Monitors payments received and places monies received to the final order. This position is responsible for ensuring the undisputed citations are filed every month.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to use available technology to perform duties including computer software, hardware and data systems.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Minimum Requirement:
- Two years of office based administrative or clerical experience;
- Two years of experience in researching and analyzing statutory issues.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; OR
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of investigative or high level administrative/clerical experience;
