The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) administers programs for students with disabilities. Additionally, the Bureau coordinates Student Services throughout the state and participates in multiple inter-agency efforts designed to strengthen the quality and variety of services available to eligible students with disabilities.

Job Description
This position consists of a Research Assistant supervised by the Senior Educational Program Director in the Dispute Resolution and Monitoring (DRM) section of the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS). This position will work closely with the DRM section and the support staff from other sections. The person in this position is expected to perform highly responsible administrative work as related to the statutory regulations of the education profession in the State of Florida. This position requires excellent communication skills in dealing with the public, appointed commissioners, and members of both the legal and educational professions. This is a great opportunity for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and can communicate effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
- Review requirements for publications, documents and forms in the bureau
- Answer phones
- Coordinate communication and scheduling for required activities
- Assist with tracking and filing papers and electronic documents
- Research materials for professional staff for conferences and meetings
- Tracks and updates data systems in Excel

Minimum Qualifications:
This is a student position. The applicant must currently be a student and able to provide class schedule on request.
