JOB SUMMARY:

The Information Services Program is seeking a qualified Security Compliance Analyst to join the Systems Administration Team. This Senior Database Analyst position is a specialized agency role that bridges systems administration, auditing, and regulatory compliance. The work requires applying knowledge of systems administration and regulatory frameworks to practical situations involving systems configuration remediation.

The selected candidate will prepare for and participate in periodic internal and external IT systems and process audits; serve as the Systems Administration point of contact for annual IRS Safeguard Security Report updates and audit findings; develop, document, and track corrective action plans; coordinate responses, timelines, and status updates with technical and business stakeholders; and communicate progress, challenges, risks, and successes to agency leadership.

The position uses established change-control processes to implement remediations, strengthen internal controls, provide staff guidance on audit-response and compliance requirements, improve organizational awareness, recommend forward-looking upgrades with the supervisor and technical lead, and identify process improvements that reduce the recurrence of findings. Strong organization, attention to detail, collaboration, and clear technical communication are essential to protecting systems and data and meeting agency and IRS requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year of experience preparation in systems administration, regulatory compliance, IT audit participation and remediation, system hardening, or closely related technical support. *
  • Experience participating in at least one IT audit or compliance-review cycle, including preparing audit evidence, responding to findings, developing corrective actions, or tracking technical remediation.
  • Experience with hands-on administration, configuration, security, or hardening of Windows Server, Active Directory, or Group Policy.
  • Applicants must document experience performing both activities listed above. These activities may have been performed concurrently during the same period.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • * Relevant education may substitute for the experience required in the first minimum qualification on a year-for-year basis. A documented combination of relevant education, training, certification, military experience, project work, and/or related work experience may satisfy that one-year requirement. Qualifying preparation must be directly related to systems administration, regulatory compliance, IT audit participation and remediation, system hardening, or closely related technical support. These substitutions apply only to the first minimum qualification and do not replace either of the two additional experience requirements.

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate job-related knowledge, skills, or abilities in one or more of the following areas:

  • NIST SP 800-series guidance, IRS Publication 1075, and State of Florida Rule 60GG.
  • Enterprise governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) concepts and practices.
  • Windows Server administration and configuration hardening.
  • Serving as an IT systems audit lead or audit participant.
  • System audit-logging configuration and log lifecycle management.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This is an anticipated vacancy.
  • This position is located in Tallahassee, FL.
