Location: The employment address is listed as Tallahassee, FL; however, the position allows you to work from any DCF office within the State of Florida.
What you will do:
- The primary focus of this position is to support the General Counsel and Children’s Legal Services Leadership by advising on complex and nuanced Dependency issues and Child Welfare cases and appeals by providing analysis, recommendation, and proposed issue resolution.
- This position is responsible for keeping abreast of current and proposed statutory and case law impacting dependent children, including dependency law and Medicaid eligibility.
- This position will serve as primary point of contact between the Department’s Office of Child and Family Well-Being and the Office of the General Counsel on assigned special projects and children’s legal services’ cases.
- Assists the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel-Children’s Legal Services director, and the Children’s Legal Services Deputy Director and Statewide Director of Appeals, on issues of special importance to the Department or the Office of the General Counsel.
- Works with the Assistant General Counsels for the Office of Child and Family Well-Being and the Office of Economic Self Sufficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
