Position Summary

This position is responsible for serving as a supporting consultant and policy analyst for the Agency Senior Behavior Analyst to deploy policy and rule related to standards of behavior service oversight and practices in the community and the Developmental Disabilities Centers (DDCs). The position is also responsible for assisting in the oversight provided to DDC supervising behavior analysts; community based Regional behavior analysts and behavioral service providers throughout the state by addressing consistency in local behavioral service oversight, provider practices and consumer matters, as well as providing technical assistance to agency personnel, providers and consumers.

 

The Work You Will Do 

The position requires comprehensive knowledge of applied behavior analysis and the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. The position will assist in the development, deployment and interpretation of relevant rules, statute, policies, procedures, and behavior analytic information, related to requirements for the appropriate implementation of behavioral assessment, intervention methods, program review and approval, as well as use of reactive strategies.

 

Coordinates the gathering, compiling, stratifying and posting of key operational measures for Behavioral Services, in the State Office and for use by the Area and DDC Behavior Analysts, including reports and graphing of Reactive Strategies, census of behavioral residential services, Local Review Committee productivity, service utilization and costs associated with residential and non-residential behavioral services. Conducts other data gathering for projects and ad hoc reports, including the Medicaid Waiver Evidentiary report. This position will collaborate with the State Office Senior Behavior Analyst.

 

Coordinates Behavioral Services projects, including tracking of statewide assignments and reports from Area Behavior Analysts, gathering of materials from projects currently in process, providing assistance and consultation to project workgroups and continuing efforts for standardization. In addition to reactive strategies reports, also gathers and maintains reports of IB Res Hab census state wide, makes requests of Areas to report on assignments, respond to surveys for data gathering purposes, such as case loads and LRC membership, and does follow-up from monthly ABA conference calls. Tracks requests for SANS behavioral case consults for timeliness of completion and decisions or recommendations made.

 

Assists with training of personnel, service partners and providers within the agency umbrella of services. Topics for training may include forensic services, sexual predators, applied behavior analysis, assessments and interventions for persons with developmental disabilities, organizational behavior management, and other topics related to planning for transitions, providing quality services, and managing for behavior change. Also includes the BACB ACE provider status and oversight for training opportunities.

 

Assists in and directly responds to assignments: may include bill analysis, Governor's Office/ legislative staff/requests, queries received through the internet, as well as assignments made by the State Office Senior Behavior Analyst. Conducts ICF Level of Reimbursement (LOR) reviews for clients identified as eligible for LOR 3 including conducting training with APO staff and the QIO vendor. Conducts QA reviews for LOR3 submissions.

 

Completed other Duties as Assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Behavior Analysis experience.

 

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation to travel 50 miles or more for work purposes and willing to travel.

 

  • Master’s degree in related sciences preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

 

  • Behavior Analytic standards of care, ethical practices, crisis intervention, assessment, interventions, data collection, and data analysis.

 

  • Florida’s developmental disabilities’ services system, statutes, regulations, and policies related to state facility and community services.

 

  • Licensure/registration/certification requirements.

Ability to:

  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets

 

  • Develop policies, procedures and standards, compile, organize and analyze data, develop evaluation methodologies and to evaluate quality of services and compliance with rules, policies and statutes.

Demonstrate Skills in:

  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
