DESCRIPTION: This employee must be productive under tight time frames, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance at work is an essential job function.     

 

The individual selected for this position will be a member of a call center team with a very high call volume. The hotline is answered 8 hours per day, five days per week and the person in this position will be an additional Customer Service Representative to help answer Spanish speaking calls.

 

Critical information regarding all aspects of the School Choice scholarship programs is disseminated. This is an OPS position 20-25 hours per week. Schedule can be flexible between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.       

 

Please note: Some college is required.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: The employee answers calls from the School Choice Information Hotline for the Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice and provides accurate and detailed information to callers regarding the scholarship programs and other programs in the office. Responds to voicemails and e-mail requests for information. Assists parents in filing intents to participate in the scholarship program.

Customer Service Representatives are required to know the statutes that regulate the scholarship program and interpret the language so that participants can understand and comply with the law. Representatives log calls and data into the call log database and complete faxed/mailed requests from private school and parents. This includes intents to participate in the McKay Scholarship Program, transfers, withdrawals, fee schedule and enrollment assistance. They are also available for other projects as needed.
