Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science or Information Technology-related field, such as cybersecurity, programming, computer science, engineering or similar is required OR a combination of college coursework and experience as described above may also be interchanged. Professional work experience can qualify on a year-by-year basis in place of the required education. College coursework will be considered the equivalent of experience at the rate of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours on a year for year basis.


Additional requirements:

  • Five (5) years of experience as a Data Base Analyst.
  • Five (5) years of experience as an application programmer with preference in JCL, BMC, TMON and DB2 related products.


The salary range for this position will be $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year.


This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.


This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.


Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of DB2.
  • Skill in using monitoring software equivalent to BMC.
  • Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and REXX (Restructured Extended Executor).
  • Ability to communicate with developers in order to solve database related problems.
  • Ability to assist in the design of data base systems.
  • Ability to evaluate database designs or efficiency and usability.
  • Ability to document problems, solutions, and enhancements.
  • Ability to generate JCL (Job Control Language) for running of batch jobs.
  • Ability to generate JCL for running of batch jobs.
  • Working knowledge of Natural Security and Predict.
  • Knowledge of SQL, REXX and Natural.



This position will evaluate and advise on proposed design of new or revisions to existing applications which utilize the data base management system, ensure that integrity and processing efficiency is achieved/maintained.


Ensure that data base integrity is maintained through the implementation and enforcement of software control security to deter unauthorized access or alteration of data base file backup and recovery procedures.


Establish and maintain standards and procedures for database, programming, and documentation of data base applications, as well as document DB2 related processes.


Assist developers with SQL scripts in their deployment processes.


Refresh databases to provide the needs for application development.


Test, implement and support data base management systems. Ensure that software is thoroughly tested prior to placing into production. Coordinate data base related activities with affected bureaus, sections and inform them of planned changes and the impact of proposed changes or new software.
