Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position will be providing professional dental services for the pediatric dental clinic in the Leon County Area.  This position requires independent judgement, initiative, advance knowledge of program, business practices and skill in delivering instructions to accomplish various job functions. 

 

This individual is responsible for leading and professional management of Career Service and Other Personal Services (OPS) Dentists. Supports the Dental Clinic Manager in providing guidance regarding the professional work of dentists, dental assistants, and dental hygienists including assisting in the performance evaluation processes.

 

The responsibility of this position is to assure the delivery of quality dental services to patients of the Department of Health in Leon County.  This includes but is not limited to actual treatment performed on patients, assurance of confidentially, monitoring sterilization procedures, development of community dental programs to assist in screening high risk individuals and periodic training programs as needed.
 
Delivery of clinical services: Examinations, diagnosing, radiographic interpretation, treatment planning and dental care to include restorative and surgical procedures, endodontics, nitrous oxide, consultations.
 
Senior dentist will oversee sealants, prophylaxis and oral hygiene services and coordination of student interns.
 
Administrative work and community development activities to support the Dental Health Program of the Health Department and increase community access and preventive activities.
Participate in in-service and staff development programs related to enhance personnel and staff job performance.  Attends staff meetings and other related in-services to keep current on pertinent rules, regulations, and procedures. 
Performs other related duties as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
•    Licensed by Florida Board of Dentistry.
•    Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
