The Senior Director for Program Accountability, Assessment and Data Systems (PAADS) will provide strategic oversight and supervision of data improvement activities, fiscal grant management, and statewide program compliance with the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) planning calendar. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of indicator measurement, federal and state regulations, and fiscal accountability. The Senior Director will ensure the successful coordination of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) funded state projects, fiscal reporting, and compliance efforts to enhance program outcomes and support students with disabilities.
(Note: The omission of specific job duties does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.)
The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
Staff Supervision & Capacity Building:
- Provide direct oversight and guidance to PAADS staff, ensuring workflow efficiency and adherence to best practices.
- Facilitate training and professional learning opportunities to strength PAADS staff data analysis and reporting expertise.
- Monitor PAADS team performance and provide coaching to enhance productivity and data management capabilities.
Data Improvement & Performance Oversight:
- Provide leadership and supervision of PAADS staff in overseeing data improvement initiatives aligned with the SPP/APR framework.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of indicator measurement methodologies to ensure compliance with performance standards.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve program performance and outcomes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports in accordance with the SPP/APR planning calendar.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of the Every Student Suceeds Act (ESSA) 1% cap participation on the Florida Alternate Assessment waiver extension request collaboration with the Instructional Support Services section in the Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) and the Division of Accountability and Research Measurement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance data and quality, transparency, and continuous improvement efforts.
Fiscal Grant Management & Compliance:
- Plan and coordinate statewide meetings, training sessions, and workshops to support program implementation.
- Assist in program reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate activities of various task forces related to the education of student with disabilities
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in professional learning training that pertains to section duties such as Florida Contract Manager Course, Steps for Success, Grants Management, and other trainings that may be offered to assists in the professional growth and development of the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Bureau Chief or Vice Chancellor.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
As a supervisor, the incumbent must communicate with, motivate, provide or coordinate training, and direct the work of his/her subordinates. In addition, the employee must complete timely performance appraisals, develop timely and accurate work plans, and timely approve monthly attendance and leave for each position under his/her direct report. Timesheets will be completed in the people firsts system by the 5th business day of the following month. This incumbent has the authority to make hiring recommendations as well as disciplinary recommendations. The incumbent must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Two to Four years of professional experience working in education.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations.
- Experience in monitoring fiscal agency grants.
- Experience in assisting disabled children.
- Experience in supervising and leading a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
- Ability to travel (estimated 4-5 times a year).
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Ext)
Preferences will be given to:
- Applicants who meet both the professional and educational experience.
- Applicants who have Fiscal Reporting and Data Improvement knowledge.

- Annual Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.
