POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Systems Programming Administrator, this position actively participates in the Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) Business Systems Engineering (BSE) – Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Section. Assisting with the formulation of overall Division goals and objectives, policy and operational issues, and special projects. This individual responds to Division or Department needs for information, analysis of current issues, or problem resolution in time frames established. This position works independently and in teams to accomplish objectives, and consults both internally and externally with users of Division services to evaluate their information needs and capabilities. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Planning, coordinating, and participating in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of the systems supporting the Division of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) to include monitoring and tracking of on-going CJIS projects by providing status reports and updates to their supervisor and the CJIS Customer;
- Reviewing and providing recommendations for approval of project milestones and deliverables;
- Identifying risks to project completion by monitoring scope, budget and critical path deviations and provide risk mitigation recommendations;
- Working closely with the customer to learn their needs, and accurately translates them as required. Assist other BSE members in performing these tasks;
- Serving as the lead business analyst in the review and development of the CJIS system. This includes development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to CJIS Systems, in coordination with the customer;
- Consulting with customers and conducts assessments to define system requirements. Providing business analysis in the identification of user needs and system capabilities;
- Reviewing and maintaining documentation for end users and vendor regarding the databases and related applications and systems; and
- Reinforcing by work and example the principles of ethics and integrity and make them an integral part of all decision making.

BASE SALARY:
- $ 59,740.00
