POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Information Technology Business Consultant Manager, this position will oversee the business processes associated with the coordination and maintenance of records/information related to the Investigative, Intelligence and Forensic Services functions of the Department. Incumbent will review and analyze data, identify problems, and collaborate with others to identify corrective action options regarding assigned systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Completing assignments within established time frame and reflecting sufficient research to justify recommendations offered;
- Identifying and interviewing subject matter experts when necessary to ensure assignments are comprehensive and accurate;
- Coordinating with the Information Technology Services (ITS) section of Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and/or external entities to ensure proper administration and support for assigned systems;
- Attending meeting with Investigations and Forensics services and ITS personnel to make recommendations regarding improvements needed in assigned systems;
- Consulting with and presenting information to criminal justice personnel and others regarding criminal justice issues and developmental programs;
- Providing oversight in the development of training curriculum for assigned services/programs/applications to ensure the delivery of consistent, accurate, and efficient training;
- Maintaining a working knowledge and process associated with the operation of the IFS program;
- Serving as the subject matter expert to include the use, limitations, policies and opportunities as they relate to assigned systems; and
- Cooperating with all section members to allow for the sharing of information concerning job tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn FDLE’s internal organizational structure as it relates to members and their functions;
- Ability to become proficient in the use of, and business practices associated with FDLE’s automated Investigative, Intelligence and Forensic systems;
- Ability to grasp technical concepts efficiently;
- Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize criminal intelligence data;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities;
- Ability to write comprehensive reports based on analysis of issues;
- Ability to train and conduct presentations or demonstrations to large and small groups; and
- Ability to perform advanced and highly sophisticated functions with a variety of specialized spreadsheet and data management software programs.

BASE SALARY:
- $60,934.90
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
