Your Specific Responsibilities:

The incumbent in this position is expected to identify, recommend and initiate improvement opportunities independently, with little direction and minimal supervision. Furthermore, this position is expected to assist management by providing analysis and research on issues affecting statewide operations. 

  • Tracks and monitors outstanding ISU issues and projects and prepares documentation as necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Responsible for collecting, verifying and analyzing the Quarterly Performance Report, Annual Report and Long-Range Program Planning measures.
  • Utilizes Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to identify areas of improvement and finding the root cause in order to improve the quality and timeliness of outcomes.
  • Serves as the Balance Scorecard Administrator and provides monthly/quarterly/annual review, analysis and verification regarding the balanced scorecard. Makes recommendations based on tracking and trending data to develop
    implementation plans for quality improvement and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Provides weekly review, analysis and reports regarding multiple performance measurements within the ISU, including supplemental requests to investigations, compliance with statutory time frames, cases with status on hold due to pending requirements, priority cases and inspection program data. Makes recommendations based on tracking and trending data to develop implementation plans for quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Meets with assigned personnel on a regular basis to assess progress, provide guidance and solve problems.
  • Responsible for leading the computer database troubleshooting team with the goal of collecting, reviewing and solving technical issues.
  • Collects and analyzes data from multiple sources, runs reports in the computer database system to identify data entry errors and establishes plans for correction.
  • Serves as the statewide CCIS, DHSMV, Accurint, and Vital Statistics backup administrator.
  • Develops legislative budget requests, budget issue proposals and other fiscal requests and coordinates and analyzes legislative bills.
  • Serves as the Division liaison for performance measures and any data reporting. Reviews and approves all statistics reported by the Division.
  • Coordinates all correspondence assistance requests by reviewing, conducting research and responding in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Knowledge of computer software, to include Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Access; knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques; knowledge of basic management, principles and practices; ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices; ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; ability to conduct fact-finding research; ability to work independently; ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to communicate complex information effectively, orally and in writing; skill in written communications; ability to identify key policy issues and make recommendations to senior management officials; ability to communicate in writing in order to develop and issue regulations, instructions, policy interpretation and guidelines; ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail; ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 3 years’ experience in performing statistical, trend and data analysis; developing plans for quality improvement; reviewing and analyzing statutory/regulatory.
  • College education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
