Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least four (4) years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of state budgeting, grants, or contract experience.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This position will work closely with the Chief Budget Officer to identify administrative problems that impact fiscal, purchasing or property management and recommend suitable solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for providing fiscal guidance including but not limited to administrative, purchasing, accounting and budgetary management for the Divisions of Freshwater Fisheries Management, Hunting and Game Management, and Marine Fisheries Management.
- Prepare, analyze and monitor internal operating and Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) budgets providing oversight for assigned sections including but not limited to timely, accurate preparation of monthly budget summary reports, budget amendments, releases, allotment adjustments, expenditure corrections, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate with sections on budget related needs.
- Responsible for allotments, reconciliation and quality control. Candidate must be able to create spreadsheets that display budget details, budget information and expenditure details.
- Candidate must be able to communicate with peers, internal and external stakeholders, organize and prioritize workload to complete assignments on a timely basis.
- Conduct regular meetings with divisional staff to ensure spending levels are reviewed and/or budget is sufficient.
- Monitoring and assists in managing grant programs and contractual services and preparing forms and documents to ensure full compliance with statutory and/or agency rules. Reviews grant cost sheet for accuracy on a regular basis.
- Coordinates with the Office of Finance and Budget on all division budget matters. Research issues and provides requested information in acceptable format and in a timely manner.
- Supports agency-level efforts to coordinate and improve administrative, operational, and planning activities, includes leading and working on interdivisional teams, and as otherwise needed to support the administrative and operational functions of the agency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:
- Ability to assess budgetary needs and formulate policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations; and to document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments; to communicate in writing and verbal effectively; to work independently, to solve problems and make decisions; and, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
