SPECIAL NOTES:
High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
- Two (2) or more years of professional or non-professional accounting experience
- Two (2) or more years of experience of accounting reconciliation.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in customer service.
Preferences:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Two (2) or more years of experience preparing financial statements or reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and Excel skill level of intermediate or advanced.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Interview will consist of: Oral interview questions and work sample. Work samples will be answered using Microsoft Word and Excel.
This position is not eligible for telework. Applicant will be required to work in the Tallahassee Office located at 1801 Hermitage Blvd.
The hiring range for this position is $42,561.57 - $45,000.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate financial and operational data. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to independently analyze and use problem-solving techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team structure. Knowledge of and ability to use Word and Excel applications.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position is responsible for:
- Review and make decisions on daily positive pay exception items from Treasury’s disbursement bank.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Daily processing of the Treasury Special Purpose Investment Account (Fund Accounting) application.
- Perform monthly reconciliations, reviews, and reports using internal applications, Florida PALM, and multiple external sources.
- Answer inquiries related to the State of Florida disbursement warrants.
- Perform other tasks as directed within the Operations Section.
