A high school diploma or its’ equivalent is required.


An Associate degree or higher in Accounting or Business from an accredited college or university is preferred.


Additional requirements:

  • One (1) year of accounting experience with the State of Florida.
  • FLAIR experience.
  • Data entry keying experience.


Additional preference:

  • Experience processing bad debt payments (Debit Memos).


Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle. 


This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Reconciliations of all fund accounts processed in the Cashier’s Office Deposit Automation (CODA) System to FLAIR.
  • Reconciliation of Departmental FLAIR deposit entries to Florida PALM Cash Management System (CMS).
  • Reconciliation of Debit Memo Departmental FLAIR entries to Central Accounting.
  • Prepares reconciliation discrepancy/correction report for research and resolution of all discrepancy/correction completion by the close of each business month.
  • Provides the necessary data for processing, in both CODA and FLAIR, all Chargebacks, ACH Settlements and Reimbursed Ecommerce related payments to the Accountant III for processing. 
  • Also serves as the Liaison between Receipts and the Business Area regarding Chargeback and Reimbursed Ecommerce related payments.
  • Will research supporting documentation relating to the transaction to determine which system the correction is needed. 
  • Will create code sheets of the identified corrections for staff to use to make the correction. 
  • Prepare/monitor and communicate out the outstanding unreconciled deposits weekly and monitor daily as year-end dead-lines approach and assist with assigned Year-end activities.
  • This position is responsible for evaluating and sending delinquent accounts to Collections.  This includes ensuring the Bad Debt Database is accurately & timely updated so delinquent account reports can be provided to the business areas monthly. This position is also responsible for providing management with an annual debt collections report.
  • The Senior Professional Accountant updating the eCommerce Tracker spreadsheet and business areas on any ecommerce related issues.  Also, includes Reconciling and Posting of Ecom Pending Deposits in CODA, which includes T’ing the deposit in FLAIR for verification once reconciled and posted.
  • Scanning and submitting processed deposits electronically daily when short staffed or assistance is needed to resolve a scanning discrepancy issue.
  • Processing of ACH, Wires and JT’s and Florida Surplus Lines Refunds
  • Assisting with the opening, coding of mail and keying of payments in Receipts, when needed.
  • Assisting the FLAIR/Florida PALM and eCommerce Team with daily duties, as needed.
  • Monitor and update as needed the associated desk procedure to ensure relevant to process are current.
  • Answer roll-over Bureau phone line as needed.
