JOB SUMMARY: This is a Senior Tax Specialist position in the General Tax Administration Program, Field Operations Lead Development Process. The incumbent coordinates the Florida Department of Revenue’s Compensation for Tax Information Program (Rewards Program). The incumbent ensures the timely processing and determination of all reward cases, evaluates all incoming reward applications as to the validity of each claim, corresponds with informants to collect documentation, determines which business process to route the information, and monitors the progress of each reward and processing of rewards payments. The Rewards Program encompasses all taxes covered in S. 213.05, F. S.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Three years of experience working in audit, collections, or customer service within the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Experience working with the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of experience working in audit, collections, or customer service within the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Applicants who will obtain the college requirements described above within 60 days from the date of application will also be considered.
PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Two or more years of experience reviewing information to determine potential tax implications.
- Experience communicating with external parties both verbally and in writing.
- Experience working with Adobe Acrobat.

- This position will be located in Tallahassee and will be required to process the hard copy checks issued for Rewards Compensation.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $5,222.64 monthly/$62,671.68 annually.
