ADVERTISING TITLE: SENIOR WEB PAGE DESIGN SPECIALIST

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position primarily remote with occasional in-office hours located at The Florida Department of Correction’s Central Office, in Tallahassee, Florida as needed.

This position in the Office of Communications is responsible for providing accurate, transparent and timely information about the Department and its facilities to inquiring members of the media. The team assists the media in understanding Florida’s correctional system, facilitates media engagement at institutional events, and coordinates inmate interviews in line with FDC policy and state laws.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Design, construct, and customize thematic web pages and sites within a content management system, including navigation and functionality.
  • Provide excellent customer service by completing internal web ticket requests and communicating clearly with internal customers in non-technical language.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to measure, analyze performance, and identify design modifications or tests to enhance user experience.
  • Test navigation and functionality within and between web pages and sites.
  • Code HTML and have a working understanding of CSS.
  • Manage website changes including enhancement requests, testing, implementation support, and monitoring success.
  • Continually optimize user experience, site content, navigation, engagement, and overall site performance based on analytics.
  • Ensure seamless brand experience across platforms and devices and full compliance with statutory requirements, including ADA compliance.
  • Perform related support work as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two years of experience constructing web pages/sites via HTML, CSS, WordPress, and/or CMS (Content Management Systems)
  • Must possess knowledge of recognized industry-wide web development software/programs.
  • Associates degree or two years of additional relevant experience may substitute
