Florida Digital Service:

The Florida Digital Service is the lead entity responsible for state enterprise cybersecurity.  It was established to propose innovative solutions that securely modernize state government, including technology and information services, to achieve value through digital transformation and interoperability, and to fully support the state’s cloud-first policy.

 

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Technology Solutions Architect and Oversight Specialist is responsible for reviewing designs and providing advisory to the enterprise state agencies to ensure solutions are scalable, robust, and securely aligned with the state’s strategy and Enterprise Architecture. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. Additionally, the Technology Solutions Architect will provide support for project oversight, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

 

Project Oversight Support:

  • Provide technical assessment and advisory to technology projects.
  • Assist in project planning, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects adhere to defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.

 

Solution Architecture:

  • Design and develop technology solutions that meet business needs and align with the strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and platforms to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Create architectural designs, diagrams, and documentation to guide development teams.

 

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business leaders, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive alignment and consensus on technology solutions.

 

Technology Evaluation and Implementation:

  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve business processes and systems.
  • Develop proof of concepts (POCs) to validate technology solutions.

 

Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure technology solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for software development and system architecture.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of Information Technology and/or Cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Experience in project oversight and management.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology architecture and solution design.
