Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- VALID Driver’s License from the Florida Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles by the time of employment.
Preferences:
- Experience drafting and typing correspondences, memorandums or reports.
- Experience coordinating and scheduling appointments.
- Experience with handling confidential information.
- Experience with researching, gathering, and analyzing statistical data.
- Post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university.
- Special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS?
Selection is a three-to-six-month process where the successful applicants MUST PASS the Physical Abilities Test, Oral and Written Exam, CJSTC background prior to beginning.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.
The incumbent functions on an independent level while performing a variety of duties which require initiative and sound judgement.
Administrative/Operational Responsibilities
- Coordinates scheduling the Physical Abilities Test (PAT) for Law Enforcement positions. This includes the use of statewide facilities and administrators, sending physical correspondence and emails to applicants with PAT locations and sending out all documentation to the PAT administrator.
- Responsible for scheduling and receiving results, as well as facilitating payments of psychological assessments, drug screening, medical exams.
- Prepares background and conditional job offer correspondence to selected applicants.
- Reviews and responds to email communications from applicants and investigators.
- Assists with compiling statistics for annual report related to Division hiring practices.
- Responsible for typing correspondences, memorandums, reports, records and other related documents. Reviews typed materials for accuracy, completeness, adequacy and compliance with established standards and policies. Complies routine correspondence as required and assists in tracking documents for submission.
- Maintains background records. Complies with record retention policies and completes records dispositions for approval for destruction or archiving of records.
- Answer telephones, screen and direct incoming calls and takes message office in accordance with Department policies and procedures.
- Receives visitors, maintains visitor control and initiates proper action pertaining to visitor requests.
