WORKING TITLE: SUPPORT SERVICES LEAD WORKER
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in General Services.
As someone working in General Services, our mission is to provide essential support services that ensure the smooth operation of the Florida Department of Corrections. We are dedicated to maintaining facilities, managing assets, and delivering quality services to support the department's overall mission.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Parking and Contracts Management: Oversee all parking contracts for Central Office employees, contractors, and fleet vehicles. Ensure timely creation and cancellation of contracts, manage parking placard distribution, and be the go-to person for all parking-related issues.
- Security and Access Control: Produce and manage security badges for employees, contractors, interns, and vendors. Ensure proper background checks, monitor badge usage, and handle the installation and repair of security access readers and cameras. Keep an eye on internal and external video feeds.
- Fingerprinting and Compliance: Perform LiveScan fingerprinting for new employees and contractors. Maintain and upgrade fingerprinting hardware, and coordinate appointments for those needing fingerprints. Ensure compliance with FDLE requirements.
- Building Maintenance and Procurement: Handle building maintenance and custodial needs by collecting staff reports, submitting work orders, and escalating hazardous conditions. Make purchases via MFMP and manage purchasing card items for General Services.
- Leadership and Coordination: Supervise an Operations Analyst and Government Operations Consultant II. Oversee the weekly shredding program, manage inmate records, and daily mail room operations. Lead the production of copy requests and coordinate Central Office work squad assignments. Perform all duties of the Evacuation Commander and assist with mail sorting and distribution.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or lead worker role.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience using MS Office software proficiently (Word, Excel ,Outlook, etc.)
- Perform physical tasks related to fingerprinting and badge management.
- Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM).
- Capable of handling emergency situations and acting as the Evacuation Commander.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in facilities management, security administrations or a related field.
- Familiarity with security systems and equipment including badge access control and video monitoring systems.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
