GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent in this position is assigned to Facilities and is able to provide assistance to various areas of Support Services as assigned. This position is supervised by the Support Services Supervisor, and coordinates assignments with, the other Support Services Specialist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
- Maintains warehouse in a clean and well-organized fashion.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of trucks as required.
- Operates warehouse equipment in a safe fashion.
- Assists Lottery staff with movement of furniture or office equipment utilizing the necessary equipment in a safe manner.
- Functions as primary back up to the Mail Operations Specialist for outside pickups and deliveries.
- Works with the General Services Manager, and/or the Support Services Supervisor to ensure repairs and maintenance to Lottery buildings are completed, inspected, and accepted as satisfactory to the Lottery’s and/or Landlord’s requirements.
- Functions as primary backup to other Support Services areas as assigned, when workload requirements dictate additional staffing.
- Prepares correspondence as necessary.
- Assists departmental offices through telephone inquiries concerning area of responsibility.
- Completes special projects and assignments as directed by the Support Services Supervisor.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Performs other Support Services duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving documents and proper accountability procedures
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Knowledge of standard construction practices
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Knowledge and understanding of general maintenance tools and construction equipment
- Ability to interpret construction blueprints
- Knowledge and understand of Florida Statutes, as they apply to vendor invoicing and employee reimbursement
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating facilities maintenance
- Ability to work overtime hours and travel out of town overnight
- Ability to use a personal computer
- Ability to use and input data into an automated system
- Ability to manage information of a confidential or proprietary nature
- Ability to plan, and organize work assignments
- Ability to take direction
- Understanding of good business practices
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Must maintain a good driving record
Other job-related requirements for this position
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Forklift experience preferred, not required.
Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required.
