Position Summary
This is a technical position that works within the Agency for Persons with Disabilities Information Technology Office.
The Work You Will Do
Provide technical support across the agency and collaborate with the State Primary Data Center to maintain robust, efficient, and high-performance platforms that support all data processing operations.
Continuously monitor and evaluate all agency hardware, software, and technology services to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and long-term stability, proactively identifying issues and implementing improvements before they affect operations.
Work with the APD Information Security Office to implement, enforce, and continuously refine security processes and procedures that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all organizational data. Develop, schedule, and deploy security updates and patching strategies to ensure systems remain resilient against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Evaluate proposed IT purchases to ensure full alignment with established APD IT standards and organizational technology strategies. Collaborate closely with the IT Architecture team to verify that all new hardware and software solutions integrate seamlessly with the existing enterprise infrastructure and support long-term scalability and compatibility.
Collaborate closely with business analysts, database administrators, and development teams to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative systems that enhance organizational capabilities and support evolving business needs.
Provide communications and networking support across all APD locations, ensuring reliable connectivity, seamless information flow, and consistent performance of voice, data, and collaboration technologies throughout the organization.
Support the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and technical specifications for software projects, working closely with internal users and departmental teams to ensure each solution is accurately scoped, well-designed, and aligned with organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining windows-based computers and servers.
- Strong familiarity with all common networking terminology and technologies.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office 365, IIS, Certificate Services, System Center Configuration Manager, and cloud services.
- Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with switches, routers, and firewalls.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
