Duties and Responsibilities

This position reports to the Desktop Operations Systems Project Administrator within the Bureau of Service Operations and is responsible for providing systems administration and 2nd tier support within the Desktop Operations team, which provides installation, implementing, maintaining and supporting distributed computer systems, including hardware, software, and communications components. It supports the department's desktops/laptops and related peripherals.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Knowledge of Service Now service desk system.
  • Knowledge of information security best practices.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Virus Protection in an enterprise environment.
  • Skill in in installing and administering Windows 10, Windows 11.
  • Skill of enterprise desktop operating system deployment solutions.
  • Skill in remotely troubleshooting and resolving technical incidents.
  • Skill troubleshooting and administering of Windows/PowerShell scripting techniques.

Job Related Requirements

  • The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.  Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
  • On call status is required for this position.
  • This position provides full technical support for desktops, laptop computers and peripherals that requires, on a daily basis, kneeling, bending, crawling and any other physical movements needed to get under and around desks and work areas, as well as, climbing to evaluate and adjust equipment and related components.
  • This position must be able to handle and utilize office equipment to include using hands to both operate the equipment (e.g., entering information, diagnosing computer issues, etc.) and manually lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. (e.g., installing new equipment, office moves, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Skilled in SCCM administration and application packaging.
  • In depth knowledge and practical application of ITIL Incident Management processes.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
