DESCRIPTION:

This is a technical position for the Department's Enterprise Infrastructure team, with a focus on Windows Server Operating Systems, related Active Directory software, and Cloud Technologies.  This position is on-call eligible. 

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Manage, configure, and maintain the operating systems and application software for optimal performance of Department servers.  Integrate Windows Active Directory services with other systems.  Ensure each system operates with and in compliance of IS standards, functions, and methodologies. Manage and maintain the extended AD services related to DHCP, DNS, Clustering, High availability, DFS, 0365 Mail, Azure, and  Amazon Web Service. Understand Azure Active Directory, including Azure Premium P2 services and offerings.

 

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for all services related to Active Directory, Security, Messaging, 0365 email, MS Azure, Azure Cloud, AWS Cloud, VeritasEnterprise Vault, and integrated AD operating system products.

 

Installation and Management of Information Technology Infrastructures such as but not limited to Physical and Virtualization Technologies, Network Attached Storage Devices, Backup Appliances and Technologies, Network integrated UPS, KVM, Storage attached Networks (SAN) and Remote Console systems such as iDrac.This includes but is not limited to the services related to CRM, SQL, Dynamics, and other systems supported at the Florida Abuse Hotline. Produce documentation, create gap analysis, and distribute findings as needed to systems staff regarding computer technology developments and their impact on new and existing applications.

 

Implementation and Management of Department Based Cloud Platform Offerings in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.To include Cost Governance, Architecture Review in Accordance with Well Designed Architecture Principals, implementation of IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS based solutions.Day to day maintenance and operations, including Patching of Windows and RHEL based Operating Systems, Back up Monitoring and Configuration, and Tier 2 and 3 Support of Department owned Cloud Tenants.Including but not limited to after hours maintenance, outages, and break fix

 

Systems Design and Planning. To include acting as a technical leader on the systems supported by the DCF active directory and infrastructure team, Cloud Enablement Team, and Statewide Infrastructure Team. Participate in the research, review, evaluation, design, development and implementation of Cloud technology in order to increase the effectiveness of the department. Includes but is not limited to reducing/avoiding costs and improving efficiency through automation.

Disaster Preparedness. This includes but is not limited to Systems recovery planning, risk avoidance via testing and documentation, following Microsoft best practices, performing enviroment health checks, and proactively monitoring systems to maintain the quality of services to our customers

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Knowledge of Enterprise Active Directory and Windows Server operating systems; Knowledge of Systems Administration techniques and practices in an Active Directory Server Environment; Knowledge of Cloud based principals and technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services. Knowledge of messaging solutions supported by the Department; Knowledge of Mobile Device Management services; Knowledge and skill in configuring and upgrading computer systems; Knowledge and skill in hardware and software problem detection, isolation, and resolution; Knowledge and skill using Windows tools, utilities and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of network security concepts and techniques;Knowledge of network services concepts and implementation;Knowledge of TCP/IP concepts and configuration;Understanding of Raid, SAN, and storage solutions;Ability to design and plan infrastructure solutions; Ability to interpret technical information relating to Server programs and Server hardware; Ability to communicate technical information clearly; Ability to install and configure software packages under Active Directory and Windows operating systems; Ability to install and configure Windows Server operating system and related hardware and software components; Ability to use Microsoft Office; Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Excellent customer service interaction and a positive attitude; Mentoring, training and knowledge transfer to team members within the group
