As a Performance Analyst within the Director’s Office of the Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA), you will play a critical role in advancing strategic priorities that protect the health and safety of Floridians through regulatory excellence. You will serve as the analytical backbone of the Strategic Planning Services team, translating complex data into meaningful insights that inform leadership decision-making, enhance regulatory performance, and drive long-term strategic success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analytics and Reporting: Leverage your expertise in data analysis, projections, and statistical modeling to develop reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards that monitor and evaluate MQA’s strategic plan implementation and regulatory efficiency. You will lead the creation of dynamic data views that support leadership in setting priorities, improving quality, and tracking progress over time. You will also contribute to statutorily required reports, such as the Annual Report and Long-Range Plan and Quarterly Performance Reports.
- Portfolio Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze performance across a portfolio of initiatives, using key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarking, and outcome metrics to identify trends and gaps. Support cost, quality, and operational analyses that guide continuous improvement and inform competitive applications for state regulatory innovation awards and recognition.
- Leadership Engagement and Communication: Provide ongoing briefings and data-driven recommendations to the Strategic Planning Services Manager, Executive Management Team, and cross-functional partners. Facilitate productive discussions around strategic objectives, helping to shape organizational priorities through compelling, well-structured data stories.
- Performance Improvement Leadership: Lead a new Performance Improvement Team and Performance Management Council, coordinating efforts to improve regulatory outcomes and align business processes with strategic goals. Foster a data-informed culture through effective collaboration, coaching, and leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with database administrators, application developers, communication specialists, and program staff to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and clarity of performance data presented in both internal and external digital and print media. Participate in change initiatives, operational planning, and business process redesign efforts.
- Systems and Tools Development: Contribute to the development and optimization of performance measurement systems and ad hoc reporting tools. Support system enhancements, data quality assurance, and implementation of new performance metrics in collaboration with system support services and business teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience developing or supporting performance scorecards, dashboards, or data‑driven reporting products.
• Experience conducting analysis to support strategic decision‑making, operational planning, or performance improvement.
• Experience presenting technical or analytical information to leadership or cross‑functional teams in a clear, understandable manner.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting or leading performance improvement initiatives, councils, or cross‑functional workgroups.
• Experience contributing to statutorily required reports, legislative submissions, or enterprise‑level performance documents.
• Experience supporting or implementing system enhancements related to data quality or performance measurement.

This is a fully on-site position based in Tallahassee. Employees are required to work from our Tallahassee office five days per week with no regular telework or remote option.
