WORKING TITLE: SYSTEMS PROJECT ANALYST
This internal advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Information Technology.
The mission of the Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the department's strategic goals and operational needs.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Independent System Support: Provide daily support for Windows-based stationary and portable systems and their peripherals, including on-call work for emergency situations.
- Technical Analysis and Maintenance: Analyze, test, and maintain new and existing Windows systems, printers, scanners, monitors, external drives, cell phones, and other approved devices for end users.
- Troubleshooting and Team Leadership: Troubleshoot and analyze issues with end user devices and applications, lead a team of technicians, and develop processes for system installation and repair.
- Documentation and Training: Write documentation for applications, installations, and system repairs, develop diagrams and training materials, and assist users with application documentation.
- User Training and Technology Evolution: Train users on new and existing applications and hardware, assist with troubleshooting, and recommend technology standards and solutions for multiple hardware and software platforms.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounting programs installation, support, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Dell Computing Systems, Cannon & Kodak scanners, Konica printers, check scanners and software, banking software, FLAIR configuration and support, iWay software, and eAgent.
- Ability to analyze and repair issues with Android and Apple phones.
- Ability to analyze and repair end user issues with wired and wireless networks.
- Ability to support Conference Systems, including Television, Video, and Audio equipment, and associated software.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be employed with Florida Department of Corrections.
- Must be able to work on-call if needed, including during times of emergencies or disasters.
- Must have three (3) years’ experience in a Correctional IT role.
- Postsecondary education in Information Technology may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
***Candidates in their third year of an Information Technology four (4) year degree course of study will be considered as completed two (2) years of study***

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
