JOB SUMMARY: This is a Tax Auditor IV position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process, Refunds Unit. The incumbent conducts independent refund audits of one or more taxes and performs or assists with more complex audits of business entities for the various Florida taxes administered by the Department. The incumbent coordinates work as well as processes, examines, analyzes, or interprets accounting records, investigates financial information for the purposes of giving advice, or prepares statements or reports for the Refund Sub-Process for various taxes administered by the Department to ensure correct processing of refund claims. The incumbent also trains auditors, including on-the-job training and assists in training sessions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Four years of professional auditing or accounting experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
SUBSTITUTION:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in accounting or area of business can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required auditing or accounting experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience performing sales and use tax audits within the General Tax Administration Program.
- Experience working within the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience with conducting on-the-job training.
- Experience with researching Florida statutes and administrative codes.
- Experience providing written and verbal customer service.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $4,932.66 monthly/$59,191.92 annually.
