Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission ("Commission") is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.
The Commission's Division of Gaming Enforcement is searching for a Law Enforcement Accreditation Manager. This role will report to the Division of Gaming Enforcement-Chief of Intelligence and Support Services and will support offices located throughout the State of Florida.
This position is based in Tallahassee, although travel will be required.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support to the Division of Gaming Enforcement.
- Serves as the Commission's Accreditation Manager; acts as the liaison to the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA).
- Prioritizes projects, identifies objectives, and reports progress regarding the accreditation process and status.
- Plans, coordinates, and participates in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and SOPs for accreditation relating to CALEA and CFA.
- Remains apprised of all CALEA and CFA revisions and updates and ensures Gaming Enforcement policies are current.
- Reviews and coordinates the completion and submission of required reports for CALEA and CFA.
- Coordinates with Division of Gaming Enforcement leadership to ensure the collection of applicable documents that prove compliance with the accreditation standards of CALEA and CFA in order to achieve and maintain accreditation status with each body.
- Analyzes each applicable accreditation document to ensure sufficient quality and applicability for confirmation of meeting accreditation standards.
- Reviews all policies and procedures for accreditation compliance, and suggests revisions or edits to ensure compliance.
- Develops and manages a process to review, scan, save, and upload accreditation directives and documentation to the CFA reporting system.
- Plans and coordinates CALEA and CFA mock assessments and on-site accreditation reviews.
- Attends accreditation training and conferences to receive training on the accreditation process.
- Coordinates and conducts annual evidence inventory in order to comply with accreditation standards.
- Coordinates the production of final reports for annual evidence inventory.
- Assists the Division of Gaming Enforcement Training Coordinator with the development of educational programs, preparation of lesson plans, and delivery of training to the Division’s sworn and non-sworn personnel.
- Maintains Division training records in ATMS as required by CJSTC or agency directives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Knowledge of the law enforcement accreditation process;
- Familiarity with policy and procedure development;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures;
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
- Possesses organizational skills to maintain databases related to evidence, warehousing, training, and other required information.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in writing;
- Sufficient oral communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information;
- Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CFA and CALEA accreditation processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three years of experience working with accreditation at a law enforcement or criminal justice agency; or
- Three years of experience in policy development at a law enforcement or criminal justice agency; or
- Three years of combined experience as described above.
