FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - OPEN COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITY

 

This is a highly responsible professional position located in the Department of Health, Division of Children’s Medical Services, Child Protection Team Unit and will be supervised by the Public Health Services Manager F - SES.
 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance and expand state and jurisdictional Title V MCH data capacity through innovative technologies.  

Maintain State Systems Development Initiative section of the Title V MCH Block Grant. 

Provide comprehensive evaluation of MCH data capacity and utilize this information to perform formative/summative statistical analyses for the department.

Plan strategic epidemiological studies designed to identify determinants and risk factors for maternal and child health outcomes in Florida.

Reviews and analyzes maternal and child health data and other health related materials that impact policy and program development.

Other duties as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of methods of compiling

Organizing and analyzing data

Ability to analyze and interpret data

Utilize problem-solving techniques

Design and conduct training programs

Maintain effective working relationships

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Maintain working knowledge of SPSS), Stata, SAS, ArcGIS, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, etc.

 

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field preferred.

Years of Experience:
At least 3 years of professional experience designing, conducting, and evaluating epidemiologic studies preferred.
At least 3 years of experience creating and maintaining databases, performing data analysis and visualization and scientific report writing preferred.
Microsoft Excel and Stata, SAS, ArcGIS, Tableau, Qlik, SQL,or SPSS, 3 years of experience using preferred. 

Valid State of Florida Driver's License required.

Travel time: 10%
