Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The Training Supervisor serves as a supervisor and lead instructor on the training team within the Bureau of Professional Development and Communications. This role mentors and supports direct reports to coordinate and deliver all instructor-led training offered by the Division. Such training may be related to, but not limited to, topics including procurement, contract management, contract negotiation, and project management. The incumbent will be responsible for communicating effectively with the Chief of Professional Development and Communications and the other team within the Bureau to improve the Division’s training offerings. Additionally, the Training Supervisor will be responsible for regularly acting as an instructor for classes offered by the Division as well as acting as a back-up instructor for classes assigned instructors are unable to deliver.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•    Experience supervising and leading a team. 
•    Ability to demonstrate ownership over respective team, work product. 
•    Ability to conduct oversight of the training program. 
•    Knowledge of best practices for instructional delivery, instructional methodologies for adult learners. and learner interaction.
•    Experience using presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Products and webinar platforms and tools.
•    Ability to provide exceptional customer service using various media methods.
•    Knowledge of professional development media and delivery options (instructor-led, virtual, interactive web-based, self-study, and assessment products).
•    Knowledge of public procurement, contract management, and contract negotiation.
•    Knowledge of public records law.
•    Skill in written and verbal communication.
•    Skill in public speaking and drafting presentations.
•    Ability to prioritize assigned tasks.
•    Ability to interact effectively with others and maintain working relationships.
•    Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.
•    Ability to travel overnight. 
•    Ability to lift boxes/materials that may weigh over 30 pounds.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Two years of experience instructing or facilitating classes using a variety of delivery methods.
•    At least one year of experience supervising and leading a team. 
•    Experience delivering excellent customer service.
•    Knowledge of State of Florida purchasing statutes and rules.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a business-or-related field.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of Chapter 287 or Chapter 215, Florida Statutes. 
•    Certification as a Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM), Florida Certified Contract Negotiator (FCCN), and Project Management Professional (PMP).
