The Work You Will Do:
Transit Safety Program Manager, Transit Office, Operations
This position will be responsible for the management of data related to transit assets, safety, and security, as well as oversight maintenance of transit systems.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Collects, analyzes, distributes, and maintains data related to transit assets and the safety, security, and maintenance oversight of transit systems to inform training, risk-based inspections, research needs, and plan/policy development.
Develops and manages transit safety and operations related programs, including task work orders, reviews deliverables and processes invoices, and oversees consultant services related to transit safety and operations.
Develops and updates reports and responds to requests for information on transit safety, security, and operations, federal grants, compliance oversight of transit systems, satisfactory continuing control, emergency management preparation and recovery efforts at transit systems, and transit asset management.
Maintains close working relationships with stakeholders, including FDOT district personnel, FDOT contractors, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), transit agency personnel, and other central office divisions including Contracts Funds Management.
Coordinates and delivers training and technical assistance for stakeholders on transit operations, safety and security, compliance oversight of transit systems, emergency management, satisfactory continuing control, and transit asset management.
Develops key performance indicators and evaluates the implementation of programs, plans, policies, and procedures related to transit operations, safety and security, including compliance oversight, emergency management, satisfactory continuing control, and transit asset management, consistent with Federal and state requirements.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Government, auditing, project management, or transit systems practices.
Skills in:
- Skills in report writing, policy analysis, and using Microsoft Office.
- Skill in project management, database management, or related technical skills.
Ability to:
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to collect, analyze and evaluate data.
- Ability to interpret and apply transit regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to organize, plan and conduct various types of meetings.
- Ability to maintain files and documentation pursuant to state and federal requirements and to represent the department during recurring federal program management review audits.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze programmatic data and prepare related reports and correspondence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven (7) years of professional experience in vehicle or facility inventory management, safety oversight, auditing, report writing, project or grant management, or policy analysis. A bachelor's degree can substitute for four (4) years of the required experience. A master's degree can substitute for six (6) years of the required experience.
