Job Description
Perform case management and administrative duties involving assistance in Unified Family Court proceedings to support the judiciary. Assist division judge with advancing cases through the judicial system. Primary assignment may be with either a Family Law and/or Dependency division. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Unified Family Court (UFC) Case Management.

•    Review cases filed in dependency or UFC divisions. Notate information required for the judge’s attention.
•    Monitor and track cases and provide follow-up on cases requiring activity according to uniform case management system in compliance with Florida Family Law and Juvenile Rules of Procedure and local court rules.
•    Attend court hearings and maintain notes concerning hearing outcomes related to next hearing.
•    Prepare shelter docket, including review of prior dependency history and crossover cases.
•    Prepare notices, court orders, dockets and final judgments.
•    Review division cases filed for adoption prior to finalization, in accordance with Florida Dependency Rules of Procedure and local court rules.

 

Education and Training Guidelines
•    EXPERIENCE: One and a half years of professional, administrative and/or analytical related experience.

Substitution: Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

•    EDUCATION: Associate degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field. 

 

Competencies
•    Knowledge of court case management principles and methods. 
•    Knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapter 39 and 61. 
•    Ability to research and compose technical reports. 
•    Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and logically. 
•    Ability to communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, parties, stakeholders and co-workers. 
•    Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software. 
•    Ability to use discretion with confidential information. 
•    Incumbent must be professional in all regards.
