ADVERTISING TITLE: Distributed Computer Systems Administrator
This internal advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located within region 3 in Information Technology.
As a member of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), our mission is to provide reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions for the Florida Department of Corrections. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead an Office of Information Technology Field Office Team, providing computer support across multiple sites, including institutions, community corrections, and support centers.
- Plan, install, and support personal computers, local area networks, and internal data and voice communications. Assign daily tasks, evaluate staff performance, conduct site surveys, troubleshoot systems, and analyze computer performance.
- Serve as backup to the Data Processing Manager, acting as the local area network administrator, software manager, training coordinator, and help desk coordinator.
- Oversee the maintenance of inventories for computer hardware, software, and data circuits, ensuring everything is up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Supervise computer security activities, including setting up and maintaining user accounts for local area networks and distributed computer systems, ensuring a secure and efficient IT environment.
