STARTING SALARY:  $ 1,745.46 Bi-Weekly (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provides technical assistance and general information on finance & accounting and purchasing issues to regional management and staff to promote the most efficient and effective operational procedures.

Consults with Central Region Detention Services Management on budget issues and makes recommendations to management

Monitors budgetary/fiscal activities in the Central Region Detention Services and provides appropriate recommendations to management.

Monitors purchasing card expenditures. Provides assistance to staff and management to promote efficient and effective usage of the purchasing card.

Reviews purchase requisitions for coding accuracy and budget authority.  Reviews invoices/receiving reports prior to submission to headquarters.

Monitors and updates budget and fiscal records on a regular basis and reviews records for accuracy and completeness.  Analyzes budget trends and makes recommendations to management.

Assists in developing and preparing region specific legislative budget requests.  Consults with management in the development of legislative budget reviews.

Performs other duties related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Finance and Accounting rules, policies and procedures.

Knowledge of basic math, computer skills.

Knowledge of office procedures and practices, Basic Filing Practices     

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures, prioritize the work load, plan organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.

Ability to develop various reports.

Ability to communicate effectively and handle confidential information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) year of working experience in Finance and Accounting relating to MFMP, Ordering, Purchasing, Reconciliation, Invoicing, payment and compliance.

One (1) year of Customer Services, accounts receivable, and paying invoice with company credit card.

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.  Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
