STARTING SALARY:  $863.60 Bi-weekly (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

This position is located at the Hillsborough Regional Juvenile Detention facility and handles facility level Fiscal matters.

 

Responsible for providing all functions relating to the financial area of the facility, including preparing and submitting all facility purchase requisitions in accordance with departmental and regional office procedures.

 

Maintains purchase requisitions/purchase order files, catalogs, and state contracts; assists in the review of the direct operating budget by reconciling expenditures and encumbrance reports against the region’s vendor files; maintains vendor files; establishes ledgers for all accounts; reviews account information; and keeps current information and balances on each file. 

 

Receives, reviews, and prepares facility correspondence and handles incoming mail; and is responsible for disseminating information as directed.

 

Performs other related duties as required.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZING OF EQUIPMENT, REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

 

Knowledge of fiscal rules, policies, and procedures.

Ability to: Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Prioritize workload; Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; Develop various reports; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and Ability to communicate effectively.

Computer skills.

 

PREFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Preference will be given to candidates with:

 

One (1) year of purchasing and/or finance experience.

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.  Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
