This position is in General Services for the SunCoast Region and reports to the Regional General Services Manager.  Core Responsibilities: Preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of the Suncoast Region Headquarters building in Tampa.  We are looking for an experienced building maintenance person that has exceptional mechanical skills, quality management, time management, organization, and communication skills.  The successful applicant will also have a high level of energy and be detail oriented.  They must have a strong desire to improve the quality of the work environment for our staff and be willing to work diligently to that end daily.  They should be able to lift 75 lbs repetitively while completing daily tasks and comfortable completing tasks while standing on a 16-foot ladder.

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs lights and related electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs valves, sinks, washbowls, macerator pumps, and other sanitary fixtures.
  • Performs a variety of brick, cement, drywall, carpentry work, and painting.
  • Maintains and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Operates small power tools
  • Monitors fire safety systems and alarms
  • Performs related work as required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • One to three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, or electrical or mechanical equipment.  Must be verifiable thru the application.
