HIRING SALARY RANGE: $1,944.30 - $2,516.16 /biweekly range / $50,551.86 - $65,420.05 /annual range
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $478.40 will be added to the annual salary.

The Work You Will Do:
GIS Mapping Analyst II Surveying and Mapping
This position will use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to develop geographic maps and other geospatial business solutions, including but not limited to web mapping applications to support other FDOT offices and external customers. This position will also manage all of Surveying and Mapping GIS related data.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Develop geographic maps and other geospatial business solutions including web mapping applications and geo-processing tools in support of Department of Transportation (DOT) offices, other state agencies, and other external customers using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping software.
Meet with customers to define data needs, project requirements, and required deliverables. Present information to customers and answer questions.
Develop and manage quality control procedures in support of the General County Highway Mapping program and other Geographic Information Systems/Computer Aided Drafting and Design (GIS/CADD) products and services.
Provide technical support for cartographic design and high quality map production and all GIS-related workflows for the Surveying and Mapping Office.
Assist with performing all database maintenance tasks.
Perform other technical assignments needed to support the Surveying and Mapping Office. These assignments include but are not limited to: copyright registration, data distribution, web publishing, map scanning and archiving, field inventory, and maintenance of hardware/software.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Cartography, geography, and mapping terminology.
- GIS concepts.
- ARCGIS server installation and administration.
- Configuring, managing and using multiuser geodatabases.
- Python or other programming languages.
Skills in:
- The use of GIS, CADD, and related software for mapping purposes.
- Designing, implementing, and documenting GIS procedures.
Ability to:
- Perform spatial analysis and interpret results.
- Create geographic maps using GIS and CADD software.
- Perform photo-interpretation of aerial imagery to identify cultural and physical features.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience with GIS software.
