POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will serve as the domestic security/critical infrastructure regional coordinator for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to achieve the state’s public safety mission with respect to the collection and dissemination of domestic security intelligence. The position will interact with various units of the Florida Fusion Center Network, the Florida Intelligence Center (FIC), the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Center (CTIC) and appropriate FDLE members as well as other state, local and federal law enforcement members to ensure that each region is aware of the state’s various domestic security initiatives and is progressing toward established goals.
SPECIAL NOTE:
This position will report to the Special Agent Supervisor at FDLE Headquarters/Division of Statewide Intelligence (DSI). The incumbent for this position will be located at the Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center (TBROC). This position may be required to report outside of normal shift hours as a part of incident response
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in intelligence matters related to critical infrastructure, domestic security, and/or Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) investigations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Working knowledge of legal issues surrounding the analytic process including privacy, confidentiality, civil rights, and civil liberties protections within the intelligence cycle and products, such as application of the 28 CFR Part 23 regulation and the handling of personally identifiable information (PII);
- Working knowledge of elements of the Intelligence cycle;
- Working knowledge of subject matter related to critical infrastructure, counterterrorism, and domestic security;
- Working knowledge and experience with utilizing confidential sources;
- Working knowledge with threat streams directed at various sectors of critical infrastructure;
- Assessing source and information reliability and validity; Collecting, compiling, analyzing, and disseminating information and intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources, and promotes these sources to maintain the exchange of pertinent information among law enforcement agencies;
- Requesting, receiving, analyzing, and documenting information of a confidential nature;
- Coordinating inter-state and intra-state information and intelligence pertaining to criminal activity and criminal movement, and exercises independent judgment to ensure that accurate and reliable information is disseminated to the proper authority;
- Performing investigative/intelligence functions for any critical incident response when needed in support of the Division of Statewide Intelligence (DSI) or FDLE regions; and
- Providing investigative/intelligence support to squad(s) in a FDLE Regional Operations Center or field office.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of sworn law enforcement or sworn investigative experience, one of which must have been in the capacity of a Special Agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of three years of the required experience.
NOTE: Experience as a Special Agent Trainee or a Probationary Special Agent does not count toward the one year of Special Agent experience.

- Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

BASE SALARY:
- $67,028.52
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
