Job Description Summary

The System Administrator provides technical support for various systems and applications for the Office of the Public Defender.  You will be part of the Information Technology team ensuring professional, timely and accurate support for a wide range of customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Developing, deploying, modifying, and supporting various applications and systems.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance to customer issues, requests, and problems.
  • Resolves incidents and service requests by utilizing technical skills, knowledge base, documentation, and IT resources.
  • Participates in and contributes to projects and efforts as assigned.
  • Manage configuration of CISCO Meraki wireless network
  • Troubleshoot CISCO phone system
  • Escalates and engages with senior-level staff when necessary.
  • Performs user account administration on several IT platforms.
  • Performs configuration changes, updates, and upgrades to systems and applications as directed.
  • Engages external vendors and other support personnel as necessary.
  • Participates in the off-hours on-call rotation.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience working in a System Administrator role.
  • Working knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 and other common Windows software and applications.
  • Working knowledge of common data management processes including backup and recovery.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally work hours outside of normal shift including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCPD, Microsoft, and CISCO.
