Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of experience of adjusting insurance claims.
  • Experience working in a management or supervisory position designed to assist in the adjusting of insurance claims.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Preferences:

  • Four (4) years of professional adjusting experience. A post-secondary degree from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred experience.
  • Currently hold or previously held a Florida Adjuster License.
  • Knowledge of Florida Statutes regarding insurance claims.
  • Experience in participating in mediations on liability claims.
  • Experience in training other adjusters.
  • Experience in adjusting liability claims.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

SPECIAL NOTES:

This position is required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

This position will be filled at $75,000.00 -$77,250.00, based on experience.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Responsible for the overall supervision of all claims and claims activity.  This includes the supervising and direction of staff (Risk Management Program Specialists and Administrative Support) assigned to this Region, and the defense attorneys and contract adjusters performing services in this Unit, in the evaluation and disposition of case files.  Provides training and motivation of staff and exercises control over the reserving and settlement of complicated technical and involved claims.  Keeps staff, defense attorneys and contract adjusters abreast of current procedures, policies, regulations, legislation, and pertinent case law.
