This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 13-D Office in Tampa, Florida. This is a clerical position within Community Corrections.
The Office of Community Corrections aims to enhance public safety by effectively supervising individuals on probation or parole. They ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions and provide rehabilitative services to reduce the likelihood of reoffending. By promoting positive behavioral changes and supporting successful reintegration into society, the office contributes to the overall safety and well-being of the community.
Salary: $34,586.50 annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
JOB DUTIES:
- Enters and interprets statistical, financial, and technical data into criminal justice computer systems, helping staff analyze and categorize this information.
- Reviews and updates information from various documents into computer systems using standardized codes, making necessary corrections to offender records.
- Sends and receives investigative information and messages through various information centers, and explains retrieval replies to non-equipment users.
- Responds to inquiries from authorized personnel about information systems and maintains compliance with criminal justice standards.
- Ensures security of confidential information, maintains dissemination records, completes validation reports, and performs routine maintenance of office equipment.

- Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience. OR Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
The Level 2 background check includes fingerprinting for state and federal criminal records and may also include local criminal records checks.
According to Florida law (S. 110.1127(1)), this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
