Senior Human Service Program Specialist - Trainer

 

Location: Hillsborough, Sarasota, Lee, or Pinellas County. Applicants interested in working in counties/cities other than these Counties will need to apply for positions advertised for those specific areas on the People First System.

 

This is an Internal Agency Opportunity and only qualified candidates currently employed with the Department of Children and Families will be considered. Teleworking may not be an option for this position

 

This position is for SunCoast Region Office of Economic Self Sufficiency Pre-service Training and Development Unit.  This position may be in Hillsborough, Sarasota, Lee or Pinellas County. Some travel may be required.

 

The bi-weekly salary range for this position is $1,598.52 to $3,355.28.

 

The individual occupying this position will work closely with the Pre-Service Training and Development Team and Management and Management to coordinate and ensure that all training and workforce development activities are completed timely and accurately according to current operating procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Facilitate pre-service and in-service Plans, organizes, and conducts pre-service, in-6.0+service and policy update training for staff and insures employees have the basic knowledge required to administer a variety of programs.
  • Develop training Designs supplemental training programs to meet specialized in-service training needs, including appropriate curricula and supportive material.
  • Effectively plan and organize staff development activities and forums for regional staff.
  • Facilitating small and large group events.
  • Developing project plans and project task lists associated with forums or workgroups.
  • Serving as a liaison between departmental, regional, and external agencies/organizations.
  • Ensuring all staff development project resources are appropriately updated and archived.
  • Provide Operational support and technical assistance through case reviews, completion of ad-hoc reports and review of data systems.
  • Provide correct real time policy and procedural guidance and assistance.
  • Review and analyze performance data to determine service center and/or region policy and procedural strengths and opportunities.
  • Act as liaison between region and Central Office in identifying local needs and issues.
  • Act as liaison to other community and/or government agencies and serve as a spokesperson on program policy when necessary.
  • Develop, interpret, coordinate, and communicate program policies and procedures specific to region and operations staff on a continuing basis.
  • Compile statistical reports and prepare memos and other correspondence as requested.
  • Provide information and referrals to customers as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with other operational, program and performance monitoring as required to ensure that standards and policies are compiled with.

 

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the organization’s mission, vision, and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operate effectively with them.
  • Develop and maintain data sources for the purpose of running queries and developing reports as needed. 
  • Must have knowledge of, and experience in, the public assistance programs administered by Economic Self Sufficiency including Food and Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and Refugee Programs. 
  • Knowledge of the FLORIDA and FLMMIS systems, Application Management System (AMS), Quality Management System (QMS), ESS Online Data and Reports, and MS Office Programs. 
  • Knowledgeable of methods for compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of preparing the agency’s business plans, business plan spreadsheets, and other reports as needed.
  • Organizes work products, sets priorities, determines short or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them.  
  • Monitors and evaluates the outcomes of a problem solution to identify lessons learned or redirect efforts.
  • Knowledge of program policies and procedures as mandated by federal, state, and local governing agencies.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of ESS Workforce Development initiatives. 
  • Knowledge of various computer applications, presentation software and A/V equipment preferred.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or four (4) years professional experience in health, social, economic, or rehabilitative programs.  
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience as required above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • Minimum of three years of case processing experience in programs related to Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS). 
  • Possess a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs or more.
  • Must be willing to travel
