The Work You Will Do:

 

Senior Maintenance Technician / District Seven / Trans Support Office / Facilities Management

 

This position will perform a variety of technical and non-technical trade skilled work (HVAC maintenance, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, modular furniture reconfigurations, etc.) for the District Seven Headquarters.

Annual Salary Range:

$42,135.45 - $54,528.24 

 

A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $769.60 will be added to the annual salary.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

Perform a variety of technical and non-technical trade skilled work which may include the performance and/or oversight of technicians performing repairs, remodeling, altering, constructing, and/or maintaining hard-wall and modular offices; carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); and other general trades applicable to routine and emergency repairs and maintenance. Oversee and maintain building maintenance/facilities related work order requests.  Receive, schedule, assign, track and close out work orders.  Quality check the work of maintenance staff.

 

Identify and troubleshoot building and equipment problems; determine solutions, materials, cost, and effort necessary to correct and restore normal operations.  Contact vendors and contractors as needed.  Obtain quotes and/or proposals prior to the purchase of parts, services and other supplies needed for emergency and non-emergency repairs, adhering to the Department policies and procedures related to the use of the State purchasing card.

 

Coordinate and monitor contractors performing repairs/installations to all building maintenance related equipment and ensure work is performed in accordance with the established scope of work.

 

Perform scheduled walk-through inspections for assigned facilities; inspecting operating equipment, troubleshoot if needed to identify causes and take corrective action safely, effectively, efficiently, completely, and in a timely manner.

 

Maintain, monitor and operate as directed, building related equipment and systems such as generators, elevators, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), closed circuit television (CCTV), security access and/or issuance of identification badges, computerized/automated facility management systems, life safety systems and any others deemed appropriate for each building.

 

Participate in the training of co-workers in the areas of assigned responsibilities.

 

Maintain records, logs, correspondence and other documents related to building maintenance and repairs.  Conduct periodic inventory of tools and supplies.  Ensure all tools necessary to do the job are in stock and in good operating condition.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Knowledge of:

 

  • N/A

 

Skills in:

 

  • Performing routine building maintenance work (HVAC maintenance, minor plumbing and electrical work, carpentry, modular workstation reconfigurations, etc.)
  • Using personal computers, Microsoft Office products, and software programs associated with building maintenance activities

Ability to:

 

  • Direct work tasks and provide non-supervisory direction to other Maintenance Technicians
  • Perform work tasks in a safe manner
  • Prepare reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, building automation systems, plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Vocational/technical training in mechanical repair in one of the building trades can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for one year of required experience.
