SharePoint and Web Administrator / Information Technology Service

 

This position will perform system administration and provisioning; serve as SharePoint and Web Administrator; perform user provisioning; serve as Database Administrator; and perform active directory administration.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

 

Performs system administration and provisioning. Controls access and authorization (creating and assigning members to the appropriate role), installs and configures database server software, configures SharePoint online services, responds to system warnings, alerts, and errors, and diagnoses and resolves system problems.  Plans for high availability configurations. Follows provisioning policies to grant access to the Department’s managed resources. Monitors Service Desk queue and resolves support tickets as assigned. Documents work performed and resolution(s).  Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems and issues using troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork. Provides high level of customer services by providing status and information to the customer.

Serves as SharePoint Administrator. Configures service applications, web applications, and site pages and collections. Creates front-end portals and user profile services. Deploys and monitors custom business solutions. Serves as Web Server Administrator. Establishes system specifications by analyzing access, information, and security requirements. Maintains Web system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis and performance tuning.

Performs user provisioning to ensure access to authorized resources and applications. Sets up user computer network access and email accounts as requested. Gives users access to systems, network applications and databases based on a unique user identity. Deactivates user objects and attributes when requested.

Serves as Database Administrator. Routinely monitors database performance logs. Plans, tests and installs Standard Query Language (SQL), updates, and logs. Monitors SQL backups and helps plan the SQL disaster recovery plan. Troubleshoots and resolves issues with District applications.

Performs Active Directory administration following current applicable standards and guidelines. Administers Active Directory by using administrative tools. Creates and manages user and service accounts. Creates and administers computer objects and accounts to join the domain.

Provides technical support for the Central Office Enterprise Geographical Information Systems (GIS) development team and District GIS Coordinator. Performs duties as the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) Coordinator for the district.

Participates on statewide teams, both internal and external to the Office of Information Technology. Provides facts to facilitate the team’s decision making process and to achieve the team’s goals. Shares information and receives feedback from other Office of Information Technology staff as appropriate.

Troubleshoots network problems and outages in their area of responsibility. Schedules upgrades and collaborates with network engineers for network optimization.

Plans, organizes, manages, and tracks projects. Develops the project plan and schedule. Supports and informs project stakeholders and team.  Identifies and mitigates project risks and conflicts. Tracks project progress and goals achieved.

Generates and maintains technical documentation as assigned.  Documents server names, roles, and addresses. Documents changes such as application installations and modified security settings as required.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Advanced Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Online collaborative applications including SharePoint sites and collections, web pages and web part authoring Office365 applications, support techniques and diagnostic tools and software

 

Skills in:

  • Deploying, managing and providing technical support for SharePoint online, Microsoft One Drive Microsoft TEAMS, Microsoft Power Apps, and other software applications such as database drivers, connection software, and related database support tools

 

Ability to:

  • Plan, organize, and track projects
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Research information
  • Make quick decisions, solve problems, remain flexible, and keep a positive mental attitude
  • Read, understand, and comply with the Department’s policies and procedures, guidelines, and practices related to network and security standards
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for supported systems
  • Provide excellent customer service

  • This position requires a Level 2 background check in accordance with the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) requirements and Section 282.709, Florida Statutes.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience in supporting Microsoft SharePoint (Online or Hybrid), and One Drive and Teams experience desired.
  • Post secondary education can substitute for the required experience on the following basis:
    • An Associate degree in an Information Technology related field can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field can substitute for two (2) years of the required experience
