Position:      Legal Assistant I

Location:     County Court

Salary:          $42,045

 

Position Description:

 

The County Court Division is a high-volume division consisting of multiple court divisions.  An emphasis is placed on teamwork.  Court division assignments may change based on the needs of the County Court Division and all team members strive to make the County Court Division work as a whole.  Typical job duties include processing mail, pulling court dockets, preparing and filing court pleadings, issuing subpoenas, and handling incoming phone calls.

 

Successful candidates for this position should be ready, willing, and able to adapt to new electronic processes including but not limited to mail processing, charging documents and task sheets posted by attorneys and support other divisions within the office. Candidates may be re-assigned to join a different division from the initial assignment depending on the needs of the office and their successful job performance.

Qualifications:        

High School Diploma or Equivalency. Criminal justice and/or legal background preferred. Minimum typing speed of 30 word per minute.

 

Successful candidates should be detail orientated, have the ability to handle a high volume of work, possess good time management skills, and be capable of working with attorneys new to the practice of law.
