This position requires a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Drivers Record Requirements Policy. An unacceptable driving record is defined as any of the following:
- three (3) or more moving violations in the past 3 years that accumulate 3 or more points per violation;
- any 2 convictions of reckless driving in the past 3 years;
- a suspension or revocation of the driver license for moving violations in the past 3 years; and
- a suspension or revocation for refusal to take a sobriety test, or any suspension or revocation for a DUI conviction in the past 4 years

POSITION DESCRIPTION:Coordinates with Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) project administrator to resolve technical construction issues. Creates man-hour estimates for CEI efforts. Conducts monthly field visits for each project and creates reports to document progress and issue resolution. Facilitates communication between Engineer of Record (EOR) and CEI to resolve construction issues. Conducts close-out meeting with CEI and EOR to identify improvements. Assists CEI as directed. Acts as the Warranty Coordinator to track and resolve all structures warranty issues.
Tracks maintenance responsibilities between Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies for traffic signal mast arms. Coordinates with local agencies on routine maintenance items and verifies completion. Maintains log of deficiencies on all ancillary structures and coordinates plan for repair or replacement. Manages General Engineering Consultant (GEC) tasks related to ancillary structures.
Participates in project design kickoff meetings. Reviews and gives input on scopes and phase submittals utilizing the Electronic Review Comments (ERC) system. Performs constructability plan reviews. Participates in roundtable meetings with designer. Coordinates construction personnel plans review.
Participates in Feasible Action Review Committee (FARC) meetings. Performs and submits required Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reports. Processes asset maintenance monthly invoices. Maintains periodic maintenance list. Creates Quality Assessment (QA) schedules for Structures Management Engineer’s approval. Ensures Maintenance Management System (MMS) work orders match description from FARC sheets. Tracks and inputs Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) information into Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) system per reporting requirements. Performs field QA checks on assigned structures.
Maintains pre-Bridge Work Plan. Identifies needs required to be scoped in pushbutton contracts. Performs and submits required Bridge Management inspection, posting compliance and FHWA contract reports. Performs Critical Deficiency Report and tracks local owner critical deficiency letters to ensure resolution.
Coordinates and updates scour critical Plans of Action as needed. Participates in Central Office Quality Assurance Reviews. Processes all initial inspection requests. Represents the District Structures Maintenance Office (DSMO) at pertinent scope clarification meetings and provides maintenance comments on scopes and plans. Receives public/exempt document requests and coordinates response with Records Management Liaison. Assists in emergency response activities.

REQUIRED LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A High School diploma or GED and 24 months experience in bridge inspection, bridge repair, bridge construction,
bridge or highway design, and/or contract administration.
